American photographer John Moore, a senior photographer for Getty Images, voluntarily, to document the crisis that first hit Monrovia, the capital of this country to West Africa last year.
In a joint statement, the judges Sony World Photography Awards: "John Moore Photographs that show full crisis brutality of everyday life for people outside of this invisible enemy torn.
But it is his mind that reaps praise in the face of such horrors.
"His paintings are intimate and friendly, moving us with their courage and journalistic integrity."

Ebola is reported that more than 10,600 people were killed in six countries since the first confirmed case in March 2014.
A description of the Moores entry - Title Ebola crisis overwhelmed Liberian capital - it is said: "With a tradition of funeral rites that include washing the bodies of their relatives, Liberians were infected at an alarming rate.
"Only a decade after a long civil war, a fragile health system was overwhelmed Liberia international agencies have been slow to respond and the country to fight. "
Richter added, "It is a beautiful and difficult line between the images, the use of such a situation, and those who want to negotiate with the heart, compassion and understanding, which reaches the photographer with unerring even.
"When combined with an eye for composition powerful and compelling visual storytelling and a good documentary photography is great."
Meanwhile, beat German amateur photographer Armin Call nearly 80,000 entries to open Photographer of the Year with a picture while starting paragliding to win.

Appeal which heard the news during the holidays in Lanzarote, said it was a complete surprise. "I firmly Photos since 2011 and in competitions since 2013.
"I am very close to a lot of photos by photographer success and I am often ashamed when I compared my pictures to them.
"I think my pictures are different, they really are not the general trend."
